Why did we start Surrealty in 2019?

Why not 5 years ago, or 5 years from now?

In 2016 and 2017, we discussed building software for rendering. Although there was very little demand for the type of products we wanted to make, we all agreed how great the technology would be, both to use and build. More recently, the technologies have become powerful enough necessary to realize our vision.

In 2019, we observed the demand for virtual media products was growing beyond the supply available to create those products, either in terms of human capital or rendering services. We believe cost factors and evolving consumer trends in acceptance, adoption, and demand for virtually represented products has increased and will continue to do so.
